Tropical Storm Verbena (Koto) further intensified while traversing the West Philippine Sea.
It had maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kilometers per hour. The center of the storm was last located 130 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan.
Verbena is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday morning, Nov. 27.

PAGASA said Tropical Storm Verbena (Koto) made landfall over Linapacan, Palawan at 10:50 p.m. on Nov. 25.
Its earlier landfalls occurred in Bayabas, Surigao del Sur at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 24; Jagna, Bohol at 11:10 p.m. on Nov. 24; Talisay, Cebu at 2:40 a.m. on Nov. 25; and Vallehermoso, Negros Occidental at 5:50 a.m. on Nov. 25.
Verbena is expected to continue moving west-northwestward over the West Philippine Sea this morning before turning west and passing north of Kalayaan Islands this evening. It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday, Nov. 27.

Tropical Storm Verbena (Koto) continued to traverse the Sulu Sea toward northern Palawan for its fifth and final landfall.
After crossing northern Palawan and passing north of Kalayaan Islands this evening, Verbena is expected to reach the West Philippine Sea on Wednesday morning, Nov. 26. It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday, Nov. 27.
Verbena has made four landfalls so far: Bayabas, Surigao del Sur at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 24; Jagna, Bohol at 11:10 p.m. on Nov. 24; Talisay, Cebu at 2:40 a.m. on Nov. 25; and Vallehermoso, Negros Occidental at 5:50 a.m. on Nov. 25.

PAGASA said Tropical Depression Verbena intensified into a tropical storm as it approached the Calamian Islands and the northern part of mainland Palawan.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was raised over the Calamian Islands and the extreme northern portion of mainland Palawan (El Nido, Taytay, Araceli).
Verbena is expected to move west-northwestward over the Sulu Sea and make landfall over northern Palawan this evening, then emerge over the West Philippine Sea early Wednesday, Nov. 26.
It will pass north of Kalayaan Islands on Wednesday evening before exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility early Thursday, Nov. 27, and turning west-southwestward until Friday, Nov. 28.
PAGASA said Verbena may reach severe tropical storm strength as early as Wednesday before a possible weakening trend as the northeast monsoon begins to surge.

The center of Tropical Depression Verbena was located over the coastal waters of Cuyo, Palawan, moving toward the northern part of the province.
It is still expected to make landfall over the northern portion of Palawan this evening, then emerge over the West Philippine Sea on early Wednesday morning, Nov. 26.

Tropical Depression Verbena continued moving across the Sulu Sea and is expected to pass near or over the Cuyo Islands before making its fifth landfall over northern Palawan this evening.
It has made four landfalls so far: Bayabas, Surigao del Sur at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 24; Jagna, Bohol at 11:10 p.m. on Nov. 24; Talisay, Cebu at 2:40 a.m. on Nov. 25; and Vallehermoso, Negros Occidental at 5:50 a.m. on Nov. 25.
As of 1 p.m., Verbena’s center was over the coastal waters of Magsaysay, Palawan, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gusts of up to 70 kph, moving west at 35 kph.
It may strengthen into a tropical storm within the next 12 hours.
After crossing northern Palawan, it is forecast to move over the West Philippine Sea on Wednesday, Nov. 26, then curve west-southwestward and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility early Thursday, Nov. 27.

It has made four landfalls so far: Bayabas in Surigao del Sur at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 24; Jagna, Bohol at 11:10 p.m. on Nov. 24; Talisay, Cebu at 2:40 a.m.; and Vallehermoso, Negros Occidental at 5:50 a.m. on Nov. 25.

On the track forecast, Verbena will move west-northwestward across Visayas and the northern portion of Palawan between tonight and Tuesday evening, Nov. 25, before emerging over the West Philippine Sea on Wednesday morning, Nov. 26.
It will then turn westward, pass north of the Kalayaan Islands, and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday, Nov. 27.
PAGASA said Verbena will likely cross the Visayas as a tropical depression.
It may reach tropical storm strength either before approaching northern Palawan or once over the West Philippine Sea, and could peak at severe tropical storm intensity while over the West Philippine Sea north of the Kalayaan Islands.

PAGASA placed 27 areas in Visayas, northeastern Mindanao, and southern Luzon under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.
Verbena is forecast to move generally west-northwestward, making landfall over the Caraga region this afternoon or evening.

The tropical depression continues to move westward, but more slowly, at 20 kilometers per hour.
Verbena is expected to move generally west-northwestward and make landfall or pass close to northeastern Mindanao this afternoon, before crossing the Visayas and the northern portion of Palawan from today until Wednesday, Nov. 26.
It will then emerge over the West Philippine Sea by Wednesday morning.

It had maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, with gusts of up to 55 kilometers per hour, and was moving west at 30 kilometers per hour.
Verbena is forecast to make landfall or pass close to northeastern Mindanao between noon and afternoon.

The low-pressure area east of Mindanao has developed into a tropical depression and was given the local name “Verbena.”
Verbena is the third tropical cyclone to form inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this month, and the 22nd this year.
