President Duterte has allegedly endorsed the tandem of Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go for president and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for vice president in the May 2022 national polls.

This can be gleaned from a report coming from House of Representatives, wherein 95 congressmen pledged to support Go and Duterte-Carpio during a meeting with the 76-year-old Chief Executive in Malacañang.

Go is the elder Duterte's longtime aide and friend, while Duterte-Carpio is his eldest daughter and supposed favorite child.

President Duterte's backing of Go is also consistent with his earlier statement wherein he said he could not support the presidential candidacy of former senator Bongbong Marcos. Ironically, Duterte-Carpio had just announced that she would be Marcos's running mate in next year's elections.

Go, Duterte-Carpio, and Marcos will be running under separate political parties.

However, Malacañang has yet to give confirmation on any endorsement coming from President Duterte in connection with. the May 2022 polls.

Meanwhile, the government's pandemic task force has approved the proposal to conduct limited face-to-face classes in higher education institutions (HEIs) in areas under alert level 1, 2, and 3, subject to certain conditions.
