P2.38-M shabu seized from drug dealer in Taguig; 7 others nabbed


A suspected drug dealer was arrested by authorities while seven other drug suspects were nabbed in several buy-bust operations in Taguig City on Tuesday, Nov. 16.

Joint personnel from the Taguig Police Sub-Station 9, Mobile Patrol Unit (MPU) and Taguig Peace and Order Unit (TPOU) were conducting “Oplan Galugad” at about 8:15 p.m. on Nov. 16 along Road 19 on Maguindanao Ave. in New Lower Bicutan when they saw suspect Omie Salik, 24, a resident of the same barangay.

According to Taguig police chief Col. Celso Rodriguez, the police saw Salik and another suspect transacting illegal drugs. They arrested Salik while the unidentified other suspect was able to escape.

Confiscated from the possession of Salik were seven plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a value of P2.38 million and P5,000 in different denominations.

In addition, shabu worth P47,464 was seized in Taguig in three separate incidents on Nov. 16.

In Sitio Imelda in Bgy. Upper Bicutan, personnel from Sub-Station 7 were conducting “Oplan Galugad” and implementation of Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines when they arrested suspects Lemwil Rojas, 41; Abdulhamid Kameza, 43; and Badrudin Lumundao, 39, all residents of Taguig City, who were in possession of about 3.7 grams of shabu worth P25,160.

Along Franco Street in Bgy. New Lower Bicutan, the Taguig police arrested Elmar Apaap, 44; and Joey Morallos, 33, for possession of about 3 grams of shabu worth P20,400.

In Bgy. South Signal, the police also nabbed suspects Don Christian Imperio, 35; and Amelyn Alcantara, 38, for possession of shabu weighing about 9.28 grams with a value of P1,904.

“We continue to do operations against illegal drugs in our area of jurisdiction and ‘Oplan Galugad’ is one way to arrest people who have bad intentions to destroy peace in our community,” said Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.
