Top female drug target, cohorts nabbed in QC buy-bust


A woman, listed as a regional drug priority suspect and her two cohorts were arrested by the police in a buy-bust operation conducted in Quezon City on Tuesday evening.

Police Lt. Col. Joewie Lucas, Quezon City Police District(QCPD) Station 5 (PS 5) commander, identified the suspects as Melanie David, 36, from Balintawak, Quezon City, listed as a Regional Drug Priority Target; John Carlo Yturralde, 22, a resident of Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City; and Belen Marie Ayaquil, 21, from Sampaloc, Manila.

Based on a tip from an informant, the PS 5 Drug Enforcement Unit(SDEU) carried out the entrapment operation on Winston St. corner Commonwealth Ave., Brgy. Greater Fairview, on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at about 10:10 p.m.

The suspects yielded more than 100 grams of alleged shabu worth P680,000, a cellphone, and a motorcycle.

David and her group will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002
