“Mag-start na this week ang ating training of trainers para sa rollout ng ating bagong curriculum (The training of trainers for the rollout of our new curriculum will start this week),” said DepEd Deputy Spokesperson and Assistant Secretary Francis Bringas in an interview over Super Radyo dzBB on Jan. 28.

“Lahat ng guro na magtuturo sa Kinder, Grades 1, 4, and 7 next school year ay mate-train na sila starting this last week of January hanggang matapos ‘yung ating school year (All teachers who will be teaching in Kinder, Grades 1, 4, and 7 next school year will undergo training starting this last week of January until the end of our school year),” he added.

As announced by DepEd, the phased implementation of the MATATAG K to 10 curriculum will start this School Year (SY) 2024-2025. It will cover Kinder, Grade 1, Grade 4, and Grade 7 learners.

Launched in August last year, the revised curriculum for Kinder to Grade 10 aimed to decongest the curriculum and focus on the foundational skills of students, especially those in the lower grade levels.
