Palace spokesperson Martin Andanar and Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra both confirmed that the Philippines was prepared to accept Ukrainians seeking refuge from the destruction caused by Russia’s invasion of the eastern European country.

This, as US President Joe Biden issued a warning to Russia not to use chemical weapons in its siege of Ukraine, even as he also vowed to prevent the outbreak of World War III.

And as far as the OCTA Research Group is concerned, no Alert Level 0 can be declared without the World Health Organization (WHO) saying that the Covid-19 pandemic is over.

After only about 830,000 doses were administered in the Fourth National Vaccination Days, the government is mulling to extend it.

These are among the major stories this Saturday afternoon, March 12, 2022.

NEW AROMATIC FLOWER – The Ridsdaleaphilippinensis was recently discovered in El Nido, Palawan, at the summit of Taraw Cliff during one of the hikes of Rene Alfred Anton Bustamante of the Philippine Taxonomic Initiative, and Dr. Pieter B. Pelser of the University of Canterbury ‘The strong perfume of the blooms drew our attention to the species.’
