Addressing thousands of supporters in a series of sorties in Laguna Friday, March 11, Mayor Duterte said the achievements of Davao City during her one term as vice mayor and three terms as mayor are doable for the entire country.

“Nagagawa po yan ng mga taga-Davao, kaya po yan ng Pilipinas. Dahan-dahan po, tuloy-tuloy na kaunlaran para sa ating bansa (If Davaoeños can do that, so can the entire Philippines. Slowly but surely, we can achieve progress for our nation),” she said.

The Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) chairperson was referring to the city’s citations as the fourth most competitive city in the country, and eighth richest.

The 43-year-old presidential daughter has also repeatedly boasted on the campaign trail that she cleared Davao of more than P1 billion liabilities in 2016.

Meanwhile, her father, President Duterte, is also often credited with transforming the peace and order situation in Davao for the better during his multiple terms as mayor prior to Inday Sara's tenure.

Mayor Duterte has also stressed that unity and a peaceful life for Filipinos are among the core advocacies of her vice presidential bid.

Mayor Duterte is the running mate of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Bongbong Marcos. Their tandem has been dubbed the "UniTeam".

The two have consistently led surveys ahead of the May 9 polls.
