San Beda educators, staff back Leni-Kiko tandem


Over 300 educators and staff from San Beda University (SBU) aired support for presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate, Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

The statement was signed by 310 current and former SBU educators, non-teaching employees, and service personnel from San Beda branches in Mendiola, Alabang, and Taytay.

In the statement, they said their support for Robredo and Pangilinan is part of their "fervent resolve to be the vanguards of justice, integrity, and peace."

The educators and staff said they reached their decision "after long discernment on the character, platforms, and track records of all candidates."

"Their standing records of good governance and exemplary public service moved us to support leaders who have a strong sense of transformative and ethical leadership, accountability, transparency, and integrity which we need in these trying times," they said.

"Their resolve in championing the most vulnerable sectors and upholding the dignity of each Filipino through selfless dedication to excellence in public service, driven by virtues of honesty, humility, integrity, fortitude, stewardship, and wisdom are worth emulation and therefore are crucial in the pursuit of our aspirants for a just, humane, orderly, and the freedom-loving Philippines was envision for ourselves and our children," they added.

They also stressed that the clarion call of the tandem's "Gobyernong Tapat, Angat Buhay Lahat" is a "clear representation of a government by the people and of the people."
