Most Filipinos remain satisfied with the performance of Vice President Sara Duterte, based on the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Thursday, July 16.

Results of the Second Quarter 2026 Social Weather Survey, conducted from June 20 to 29, showed that 58 percent of respondents were satisfied with Vice President Duterte's performance, while 26 percent were dissatisfied, giving her a “good” net satisfaction rating of +31.

The latest rating was two points higher than the +29 (54 percent satisfied and 25 percent dissatisfied) she received in the March 2026 survey.

“The two point increase in Vice President Duterte's net satisfaction rating from March 2026 to June 2026 was due to an increase in Balance Luzon, combined with a smaller increase in Mindanao and a decrease in Metro Manila, while the Visayas held steady,” SWS said in its report.

The SWS terminology for net satisfaction ratings is as follows: +70 and above, “excellent”; +50 to +69, “very good”; +30 to +49, “good”; +10 to +29, “moderate”; +9 to -9, “neutral”; -10 to -29, “poor”; -30 to -49, “bad”; -50 to -69, “very bad”;-70 and below, “execrable.”

As of June, Vice President Duterte's net satisfaction rating remained highest in Mindanao at +84, followed by the Visayas at +36, Balance Luzon at +10, and Metro Manila at +3.

Compared with the March survey, her rating increased by five points in Balance Luzon from +5 to +10 and by two points in Mindanao from +82 to +84.

However, it slipped by two points in Metro Manila from +5 to +3 and was unchanged in the Visayas at +36.

The survey also showed Vice President Duterte continued to receive stronger satisfaction ratings in rural areas than in urban communities.

Her net satisfaction rating stayed at +36 in rural areas, while it improved by four points in urban areas from +23 to +27, although it remained in the moderate category.

The Vice President's net satisfaction rating also rose from moderate to good among women, increasing from +28 in March to +33 in June.

However, among men, it remained unchanged at +29.

Across age groups, Vice President Duterte's rating remained in the good category among respondents aged 18 to 24, 25 to 34, and 35 to 44.

It rose to +41 among the youngest respondents, eased slightly to +43 among those aged 25 to 34, and climbed to +44 among those aged 35 to 44.

Her rating remained moderate among respondents aged 45 to 54 despite slipping from +25 to +20.

Among those aged 55 and above, it improved from -4 to +4, moving from a negative to a neutral rating.

Among college graduates, her net satisfaction rating rose from -3 to +12.

It also increased among respondents with no formal education through some elementary schooling, elementary graduates, and those with some senior high school education.

However, Vice President Duterte's rating among junior high school graduates declined from +36 to +29, although it remained in the moderate category.

Meanwhile, Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian received a moderate net satisfaction rating of +18 in his first public assessment since assuming the Senate leadership.

The survey found that 45 percent of respondents were satisfied with his performance, while 27 percent were dissatisfied.

SWS noted that Gatchalian, who assumed the Senate presidency in June following a leadership reorganization, was being rated for the first time.

His highest net satisfaction rating was recorded in the Visayas at +30, followed by Balance Luzon at +21, Metro Manila at +15, and Mindanao at +5.

Meanwhile, Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III posted a neutral net satisfaction rating of +8 after 33 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with his performance and 26 percent were dissatisfied.

His latest rating was four points higher than the +4 recorded in March.

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo registered a moderate net satisfaction rating of +10, with 35 percent satisfied and 26 percent dissatisfied.

His rating improved by one point from +9 in the previous quarter.

The nationwide survey was conducted through face to face interviews with 1,200 adults aged 18 and above from June 20 to 29.

It had sampling error margins of ±3 percentage points for national estimates and ±6 percentage points each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s ratings from the same survey, showing that 38 percent of Filipinos were satisfied and 45 percent were dissatisfied with his performance, for a neutral net satisfaction rating of -7.

The score marked an improvement from his record low -15 net satisfaction rating in the previous quarter.
