Despite fresh rumors of a Cabinet revamp, Malacañang has once again clarified that there was no reorganization within the administration.
Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said on Tuesday, May 12, that there was no movement within the administration.
"Sa ngayon po ay wala pa rin pong ipinapaabot sa atin na update pero kapag mayroon ibibigay ko po agad sa inyo (At the moment, we still have not received any updates, but if there are any, I will immediately relay them to you)," Castro said in a Palace briefing.
Castro was sought for confirmation on rumored changes within at least three government agencies.
The Palace official was also asked whether President Marcos will appoint politicians who ran in the previous election, as the appointment ban for candidates has already lapsed.
Castro said she has no information at the moment.
Asked if former Department of the Interior and Local Govenment (DILG) secretary Benhur Abalos will be positioned to the Marcos administration anew, Castro made no confirmation.
"Hindi ko po masasabi sa ngayon (I cannot say at this time)," the Palace spokesperson said.
What Castro confirmed was that Marcos’ trust and confidence in his Cabinet remains intact, despite rumors of a Cabinet reshuffle.
