Toyo Eatery has secured the No. 42 spot on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list, which was announced on March 25 during an awards ceremony in Seoul, South Korea.

The Makati-based restaurant, led by Jordy and May Navarra, is the only Philippine establishment on this year’s list. It also received the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award, which recognizes excellence in service and the overall dining experience. The award was previously announced in February.

This marks Toyo Eatery’s fourth appearance on the annual ranking since its debut in 2019 at No. 43. Last year, it placed No. 24 before returning to the 42nd spot—its same ranking in 2023.

Gaggan tops the list again

Bangkok’s Gaggan reclaimed the No. 1 spot, securing the title for a record-breaking fifth time. It was followed by Hong Kong’s The Chairman (No. 2) and Wing (No. 3), Tokyo’s Sezanne (No. 4), and Seoul’s Mingles (No. 5), which recently earned its third Michelin star.

Other special award winners included the late Filipino chef Margarita Forés, who was posthumously honored with the Woodford Reserve Icon Award. Her son, Amado Forés, accepted the accolade on her behalf.

Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants is an annual ranking compiled by over 350 industry experts from across the region. Toyo Eatery’s continued presence on the list highlights its role in the evolving landscape of Filipino cuisine.
