Truck helper shot dead in house

BAY, Laguna â€“ A 34-year-old truck helper was shot dead on March 19 in Barangay Bitin here.

Police said the victim Eugene was inside his house at 9:15 p.m. when a man appeared and shot him twice in the body. The victim died on the spot.

The suspect fled towards Santo Tomas City, Batangas on board a black Ford Everest driven by a companion.

The gunman was wearing pants and black and red jacket and the driver was wearing white T-shirt.

A 35-year-old barangay tanod (watchman) and a 57-year-old farmer were gunned down in Barangay Putat, Nasugbu, Batangas on March 19.

Police identified the victims as Samuel, tanod, and Francisco, farmer.

The victims were on their way home from a court hearing onboard a motorcycle when they were shot by a lone gunman. They died on the spot.

Police recovered three fired cartridge cases and a live bullet for caliber .45 in the area.

Lawmen are conducting follow-up investigation of both cases.
