The Las Piñas Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) launched an automated check-in system that aims to improve real-time tracking, coordination, and resource management during fire incidents.
Las Piñas City Vice Mayor April Aguilar said BFP Fire Marshal Supt. Josephus Alburo presented the system to her during the launch at the SM South Mall parking area on March 21. The system uses near-field communication (NFC) technology to automate the check-in process for firefighting equipment, vehicles, and personnel.
The Las Piñas BFP also distributed advanced card systems (ACS) to all barangay fire brigades in the city to ensure the project's effective implementation.
According to Alburo, FO2 Jose Lien Florin developed the project to enhance safety, efficiency, and resource allocation at fire scenes.
He said the system will provide real-time data updates and historical tracking, ensuring better resource management and improved future incident response strategies.
