Taguig police arrest man who robbed 12-year-old student

Taguig police arrested a man who allegedly robbed a 12-year-old student in Barangay Calzada Tipas on March 19.

The Taguig police’s Station Investigation and Detection Management Section identified the suspect as Art Daniel Imperial, 22, a resident of Barangay Kalawaan, Pasig, who was arrested a day after the alleged crime was committed.

Based on the investigation, the police said the suspect pretended to ask for directions from the victim and intimidated the victim into giving him his cellphone.

CCTV footage helped in identifying the suspect and assistance from barangay officials and the cooperation of the victim and his guardian helped in the arrest of the suspect.

Stolen from the student was a Samsung phone worth P17,000. The police retrieved the cell phone at a stall at Pasig public market.

The suspect is in police custody and will face charges for robbery through Intimidation, with the case endorsed to the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings.
