In a press briefing, Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro noted that these projects directly respond to the President’s call to improve food security and livelihood opportunities across regions.
“Mas maraming trabaho, parating na para sa mga Pilipino (More jobs are coming for Filipinos),” she said.
The approved ventures are expected to create over 7,000 new jobs while supporting Marcos’ directive to strengthen domestic production and ease the cost of doing business in the country.
Among the projects certified for fast-tracked processing are a large-scale coconut processing facility projected to employ 4,725 people, and several breeder farms that will provide jobs to more than 1,000 workers.
Other initiatives include pig production facilities, feed mills, cold storage units, greenhouse vegetable farms, dairy farms, and wean-to-finish livestock farms.
Of the 31 projects, 17 are in the pre-development stage, seven are under construction, six are operational, and one is preparing to begin operations.
The Green Lane certification, granted by the DTI’s Board of Investments, allows for the expedited processing of permits and licenses from both national agencies and local government units. It is part of the broader effort to streamline investment procedures and attract more capital into the country.
Since the program’s launch in February 2023, a total of 222 projects have been certified under the Green Lane initiative, accounting for an estimated P5.75 trillion in investments and around 319,000 projected jobs nationwide.
The initiative is aligned with the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028 and the administration’s socioeconomic blueprint for modernizing agriculture, empowering rural communities, and positioning the country as a top investment destination.
