In a statement, the CHR-Caraga said all forms of violence committed against innocent children are a blatant desecration of human life and dignity.
The CHR-Caraga vowed to help the victim’s family obtain justice.
“We have taken cognizance of this case and an independent investigation has been launched to help the victim’s family seek justice and ensure that the perpetrator of this heinous act is held accountable and indicted to the fullest extent of the law,” the agency said in a Facebook post.
“We urge every citizen to remain vigilant and proactive in protecting the rights and safety of our children. Let us work together to foster a culture of zero tolerance for any form of abuse against children. The CHR-Caraga will work closely with law enforcement officers, social workers, and other agencies to ensure that all the necessary assistance be given.”
We extend our condolences to the bereaved family members and loved ones of the victim, the agency added.
