Security guard dumped by partner allegedly rapes, kills girl, 7

A drunk security guard allegedly raped and killed a seven-year-old girl in Butuan City on Saturday, March 15.

Police said the suspect barged inside the victim's house and raped her.

The suspect then punched the victim who was alone until she died.

He dumped her body in a hole.

Her family noticed her missing and informed neighbors.

Neighbors searched for the victim until her body was found.

Police arrested the suspect after he was last seen with the victim.

The suspect admitted committing the crime.

He said that he was drunk from a drinking spree with neighbors after his live-in partner dumped him.

Her relatives sought justice for her. The victim's mother is reportedly an Overseas Filipino Worker.

The suspect faces rape and murder cases. Follow-up investigation is ongoing.

Netizens lamented the deterioration of the peace and order situation in the country as shown by this and recent high-profile cases.

Just this week, a Slovakian tourist who had just attended a friend's wedding was found dead in Boracay.

Her half-naked body was discovered in an abandoned chapel in Sitio Pinaungon, Barangay Balabag.

Initial investigation said the victim was stabbed in the stomach.
