Phivolcs logs 468 aftershocks after 6.8-magnitude earthquake hits Surigao del Sur
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has recorded over 400 aftershocks following the 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Surigao del Sur on Saturday morning, Aug 3.

As of 4 p.m., Phivolcs has detected 468 aftershocks, with magnitudes ranging from 1.2 to 6.2 and depths varying from 1 to 34 kilometers.
Of the total recorded aftershocks, 111 were plotted, according to Phivolcs.
At 6:22 a.m. today, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck off the coast of Surigao del Sur. Phivolcs located its epicenter 66 kilometers north of the municipality of Lingig.

Meanwhile, Phivolcs reported that one event, recorded at 12:20 p.m., was felt in the affected areas.
