Over 200 aftershocks recorded after 6.8-magnitude quake in Surigao Del Sur - Phivolcs
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has recorded over 200 aftershocks following the 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Surigao del Sur on Saturday morning, Aug. 3.

As of 10 a.m., Phivolcs has detected a total of 217 aftershocks, with magnitudes ranging from 1.5 to 5.5.
Out of the total recorded aftershocks, 31 were plotted, according to Phivolcs.
Phivolcs reported that a magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck off the coast of Surigao del Sur at 6:22 a.m., with its epicenter located 66 kilometers north of the municipality of Lingig.

Meanwhile, Phivolcs reported that one event recorded at 12:20 p.m. was felt by residents. The magnitudes of these events ranged from 1.5 to 6.2, with depths varying from 1 to 28 kilometers.
