Passengers are now expected to cut their traveling time between Quezon City and Parañaque from an hour and a half to just 25 minutes with the addition of five new stations to the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension.
This is just the first of the remaining stations in the Cavite leg that have yet to be operational in 2031, namely Las Piñas, Zapote, and Niog.
For now, commuters are expected to ride the five new stations in the fourth quarter before Christmas day.

However, where exactly these stations are located and why are they strategically placed?
Redemptorist Station
The first station and the northernmost of the extension. It is also the twenty-second station from the northern terminus at Common Station.
It is located in Aseana City, a mixed-use development in the southern part of Manila Bay in Parañaque City, and a flagship project of D.M. Wenceslao and Associates (DMWAI).
Aseana City currently houses several commercial and residential developments such as the shopping mall Parqal and Pixel Residences.
The station is also parallel to the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs and is near SM Mall of Asia.
Currently, it is at 97.4 percent completion.
Manila International Airport (MIA) Station
Given its name, the station would not directly link to the airport but is rather the closest station to it.
The station, which is at 97.2 percent completion, is also the closest station to Ayala Mall Manila Bay and the nearby City of Dreams Manila.
Asiaworld Station
This station would heavily cater to thousands of travelers as it is directly connected to the Parañaque International Terminal Exchange or PITX, where commuters can board city and provincial buses in the southernmost parts of the country.
Hotel Sogo Macapagal, various condominiums, and the Marina Bay Town subdivisions, all in Asiaworld, are also located nearby.
Ninoy Aquino Station
Located along Ninoy Aquino Avenue, this station is built near educational institutions such as the city branch of Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Sto. Niño National High School.
It is also near the Global Airport Business Park Gate 1 and other air cargo logistics provider warehouses such as F2 Logistics, Parañaque Central Post Office, and the residential areas of Barangays Santo Niño and La Huerta in Parañaque.
Dr. Santos Station
The last station of the phase 1 project of the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension, it is just beside SM City Sucat and is located with access to and from Dr. Santos Avenue formerly Sucat Road and C5 Road Extension.
It is the first station to have an intermodal facility, a space wherein various vehicles such as buses, jeepneys, and UV express will have access for commuters.
It is currently at 97.7 percent completion.
