The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, Jan. 29, said the temperature in La Trinidad, Benguet has dropped to 9.7°C, the lowest record since the "amihan" season started in the country.
This surpassed the record on Jan. 27 when Baguio City experienced a temperature of 9.8°C, based on the daily temperature updates of PAGASA.
Meanwhile, PAGASA recorded a temperature of 11.0°C in Baguio City on Monday, Jan. 29.
It also recorded 10 areas with the lowest temperatures from which provinces in northern Luzon dominated the list.

PAGASA noted the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan," will continue to prevail in the country and is expected to peak in February.
