MMDA tows illegally parked vehicles in Tondo for Bagong Pilipinas rally  


Vehicles parked along Road 10 in Tondo, Manila were towed by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday morning, Jan. 25, as part of the "Bagong Pilipinas" campaign.

MMDA Officer-in-Charge Gabriel Go said that the clearing operation is part of their preparation for the upcoming Bagong Pilipinas launching on Sunday, Jan. 28, that will be held at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila. 

He added that Road 10 is a major thoroughfare utilized by large vehicles such as container trucks and has to be cleared of any obstruction at all times. 

All towed vehicles were unattended by their drivers.

Go added that they will also conduct a clearing operation in Pasig City in the afternoon.

The vehicles were brought to the impounding area in Marikina City.
