Manila mayoral candidate Sam Verzosa captured the hearts of Manilenos as he vowed to bring the transformative K.K.K. program to life once he assumed office.
The K.K.K is an acronym for Tagalog words kalusugan, kaalaman at kabuhayan. Translated in English, it means health, knowledge, and livelihood.
Sam's passion for the city filled the air as he spoke to supporters in Binondo, Manila, on Friday night, March 28. He promised a brighter future for its residents through dedicated service and innovative reforms.
"Unang-una natin dapat solusyunan ay ang kalusugan. Napakaraming may sakit, namamatay, walang pampagamot, at walang pang-maintenance. (The first thing we should solve is health. There are so many sick people, dying, without treatment, and without maintenance. That's what we'll focus on first. Seniors who have no livelihood and no income)," said Sam when asked about his priority programs during an interview with showbiz media.
(We also need to focus on the education of the youth. All problems start with poverty. You can't get health treatment and education because of poverty. There are also no jobs. Everything is a chain reaction.)
(I will use the three Ks. These are the three Ks that I used to lift myself out of poverty. Once they have the three Ks, they have a way to help themselves.)
(When they are educated, they will have opportunities in life. When they have a livelihood, they will be able to help themselves. They will be free from poverty)," said Sam as he launched his campaign with enthusiasm.
Before the campaign, Sam promoted the culture of giving to alleviate poverty.
Known for his unwavering commitment to social causes, Sam has been actively reaching out to needy communities. He believes that by providing essential resources like food, he can help families cope with their challenges and empower them to build a better future.
The philanthropist offered a much-needed boost for seniors facing financial difficulties by providing 2,000 pesos in cash. This allowance can cover essential expenses such as medicines, food, and transportation, helping improve their overall quality of life.
Despite his unwavering commitment to social causes and his generous acts of kindness, some individuals have accused the good public servant of having ulterior motives behind his philanthropic endeavors. These critics have suggested that his generosity may be a publicity stunt or a way to gain bigger favor.
(The problem is they are criticizing us on social media. When we give aid, business, franchise business, they belittle us. They say that I will take back everything I help them with. If we win, I will give even more. My advice to those who are criticizing us, just imitate us. I want the people to benefit)," Sam responded.
The public servant running for the city's highest position is on a mission to transform Manila. His outreach programs, which have positively impacted the lives of thousands of families, clearly demonstrate his unwavering commitment to service.
With his personal experiences as a guiding force, Sam is determined to lead the city and inspire others to contribute to its betterment.
Sam emphasized that effective leadership is essential for allocating resources fairly and efficiently. He has urged the public to be vigilant and to hold their elected officials accountable for their actions.
(Among the many cities, only Manila borrowed and sold its property. But the question is, why did they sell it? Is it theirs? Who will pay them? The people. Let's learn from this. Let's stop being stupid. Let's be smart)," Sam also said.
Beyond the immediate relief provided by Sam’s outreach programs, his actions serve as an inspiration to others. His commitment to helping those in need demonstrates the power of compassion and the positive impact individuals can have on their communities. By fostering a culture of giving, he hopes to encourage others to join him in making a difference.
Sam is involved in charitable work that will positively affect many people's lives. He is dedicated to helping reduce poverty and believes in the importance of giving. His commitment shows that he wants to make Manila a better and more sustainable place.
