MPD all set for ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ campaign; 2,100 personnel to be deployed


The Manila Police District (MPD) said on Wednesday, Jan. 24, that it is prepared for the upcoming kick-off rally of the “Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines)” campaign on Sunday, Jan. 28.

MPD Public Information Office (PIO) Major Philipp Ines said that they are ready to secure the event that will be held at Quirino Grandstand in Manila. 

Ines said that around 2,100 MPD personnel will be deployed, adding that they already have a security plan to ensure the success of the event. 

During the Philippine National Police (PNP's) pre-launch of the Bagong Pilipinas Campaign, MPD police made a pledge of commitment as they lined up at MPD Headquarters to watch the live ceremony at Camp Crame in Quezon City. 

Maj. Gen. Edgar Allan Okubo, Police Community Relations director, said that the pre-launch was conducted to ensure the full participation of the PNP in the upcoming kick-off rally.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the "Bagong Pilipinas' is a campaign that serves as the overarching theme of the administration of President Marcos Jr., characterized by a principled, accountable and dependable government reinforced by unified institutions of society to realize the goals and aspirations of every Filipino.

“As we approached the kick-off rally on Jan. 28, let us embrace this spirit of change and progress. The role of the PNP is paramount in safeguarding the peace and order that form the foundation of this transformative journey,” PNP chief Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr. said. 

“Let this rally serve as a powerful symbol of our commitment to President Marcos' vision. Together, let us strive for a bagong Pilipinas, one characterized by resilience, prosperity, and a government that remains firm. It is our duty to ensure the well-being of our Filipino people. The dedication and unwavering support of every PNP personnel are essential to the success of the Bagong Pilipinas campaign. Let us work together towards the common goal,” he added.
