"Lotto sales started to increase since the launch of the PCSO's 'Handog Pakabog' Christmas draws last Dec. 16 after the agency raised the minimum guaranteed prize of Grand Lotto 6/55, Ultra Lotto 6/58 and, later on, SuperLotto 6/49 to P500 million each," PCSO said in a statement via "X" formerly known as Twitter.

It also noted that aside from the Handog Pakabog initiative, the PCSO has raised the jackpot prizes for Lotto 6/42 and Mega Lotto 6/45 to P100 million each towards the end of 2023.

On Jan. 16, a lone bettor from Manila City bagged the P640 million Super Lotto 6/49 jackpot, matching the lucky digit combination 26-33-14-48-06-42.

The PCSO had surpassed the billion-peso mark in sales over a two-week span from Nov. 1 to 14, 2023, with lottery ticket sales reaching P104.87 million on Nov. 14 alone.

"It was the highest daily sales logged since the PCSO migrated to the Philippine Lottery System (PLS) on Oct. 1, 2023," PCSO said.

Moreover, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles emphasized that the substantial sales would not have been achievable without the enduring trust and loyalty of the people.

"With this, GM Robles expressed his gratitude to patrons and encourages everyone to continue supporting PCSO-sanctioned games, the sales of which are being used to fund the government's various charitable programs," PCSO said.
