
Images on my Facebook are as fleeting as the memory they leave behind. Swift and fast- paced, they are a challenge to your reflexes as one can’t seem to catch up with these images that disappear as quickly as they surface on your wall.

Since April is here and now, my high school friend, Ruel Mayo, posts a video of Dionne Warwick crooning The April Fools, a 1969 hit. This next line from the song struck me: “Will find a way somehow, no need to be afraid.”

As usual, I see posts of friends and acquaintances showing off their cats, dogs and other pets. Like always. There ought to be a contest for the prettiest pet.
Still, others post pictures of what foods they ate. Uh hmmm. Many are common, others seem special.
Another friend, Nice Rodriguez, writer and artist, shares a helpful tip. In the mornings, after her walking exercise, she buys cooked food from her neighborhood carinderia. In her kitchen, she reheats the viands and pours in some vegetables she has bought at the talipapa. Put in some spices, too. Or broccoli, carrots or cauliflower. Nice writes: “In just a few minutes, I have made tasty, cheap and healthy meals that I sometimes eat until suppertime.
An account called Rare Seeds and Me catches my attention as a weekend farmer. It gives away papaya seeds that yield plenty of fruits. The pictures of papaya trees laden with giant, luscious fruit from the base of the trunk to the tip of the tree don’t lie. I want! I want!
