In a thrilling sneak peek of her character from the highly anticipated series "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" which will air on GMA Network soon, actress Rhian Ramos revealed intriguing insights about her role.
For the first time in her career, Rhian will embrace the challenging and dynamic role of a kontrabida (villain) character, and she expressed her enthusiasm for stepping into this darker persona.
Rhian conveyed her eagerness to explore the complexities of her role, relishing the opportunity to portray a character that diverges from her previous performances.
"I will play the role of Mitena (meaning sumpa or curse) and she's an ice queen. Siguro may ine-expect na yung mga tao kung ano yung makikita nila lalo na at kontrabida ako rito. (Maybe people are already expecting something from what they're going to see, especially since I'm the villain here)," said Rhian during an interview at the opening of Bakery Fair 2025 held at World Trade Center in Pasay City last March 6.
She added: "Pero ang masasabi ko lang ay expect the unexpected kasi iibahin namin ang atake. Ibang klaseng dark character ito at napakalalim. It's a beautiful role. (All I can say is to expect the unexpected because we will have a different attack. This is a different kind of dark character and very deep.)"
Rhian acknowledged that they have been working on the series for a long time. "Malapit na ipalabas."It will be worth the wait."
Asked if she had second thoughts about playing kontrabida, Rhian said: "No. I never had second thoughts because I've always wanted to play a kontrabida. Being an actor, I've always wanted to explore something na malayo sa sarili ko. Napakabait at napakabuti ko naman na tao. Humble pa pala."

"Mas mae-explore mo talaga yung ibang bagay kapag kakaiba. Wala akong ganun na hesitation. Mas nagkaroon ako ng hesitation sa series kasi fanta-serye siya at mas matrabaho yun. (You can really explore other things more when they're different. I don't have that hesitation. I had more hesitation with the series because it's a fantasy series and it's more work)," she added.
At the Bakery Fair, Rhian reintroduced her cookie business called Bas Bakes, which she said came about following an obsession with chocolate chip cookies five years ago.
But Rhian said that she did not expect to do a demo of her chocolate chip cookies, which she now delivers to some cafes and restaurants in the city.
"I am self-taught, and now I am on the stage of the biggest baking event in the Philippines. I am very happy and surprised na ganito pala ang magiging future ko," the actress said.
In addition to Bas Bakes, Rhian operates a healthy food business called Healthy Appetite and has a jewelry line named Bas.
