2 female cops awarded for good deeds


The Philippine National Police (PNP) awarded on Monday, March 7, some of its female personnel who made a difference in serving the pubic beyond the call of duty.

Personnel from the National Capital Region Police (NCRPO), Police lt. Rosalyn Soledad and Police Staff Sgt. Vanessa Casimera were among those who received the award.

Soledad led the rescue of an old woman who has been in Metro Manila since 2006 as well as arranged her return to Lingayen, Pangasinan after 15 years.

The old woman, Nanay Dina, reunited with her family on Sept. 17 last year.

Casimera, on the other hand, was recognized for her immediate response as she helped a woman in giving birth.

The incident happened along Narra Street corner Taft Ave. Extn., Brgy. 145 Zone 16, Pasay City wherein the mother and child were immediately brought to Pasay City General Hospital on-board Mobile Car 80 for medical attention. Both mother and child were already in stable condition.

During her speech, Philippine Commission on Women ChairpersonSandra Montana expressed her appreciation to police officers who rendered duties with passion and diligence even at the heat of the sun, rain or shine.

"Thank you for going beyond your call of duty in making sure that every Filipino citizens are safe and secured. Together, the Philippine Commission on Women , the Philippine National Police can achieve gender equality in all aspects of the development process to attain the vision of gender responsive society as reflected on our Womens' Month theme: We Make Change Work for Women, " with the sub theme: agenda ng kababihan, tungo sa kaunlaran," she said.

NCRPO director Police Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad lauded the two NCRPO personnel, who he described as an example to other women of NCRPO to emulate.
