CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Police Regional Office-10 activated its annual summer vacation security operations Monday, deploying 1,266 personnel across Northern Mindanao from April 1 to May 31 to safeguard peak travel periods.

The enhanced security plan will focus on three key areas of deployment.
A contingent of 357 officers will secure churches and pilgrimage sites during the Holy Week observance from April 16 to 20.
Another 215 personnel will be stationed along major thoroughfares to manage traffic flow while another 176 will monitor transportation hubs across the region.
Commercial districts will receive 192 officers with an additional 326 mobile units assigned to patrol tourist destinations and provide rapid response.
"These strategic deployments create a comprehensive security web over critical convergence points," said PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman during the Camp Alagar launch ceremony.
De Guzman said the operation integrates multiple security measures, including fixed checkpoints, mobile patrols, and close coordination with local government units and military counterparts.
The regional command said it has prioritized security for 18 high-traffic locations, including Camiguin's White Island, Bukidnon's Dahilayan Adventure Park, and Iligan's Maria Cristina Falls.
In preparation for the surge in travelers, special tourist assistance desks would be established in all coastal municipalities by April 10, it added.
