A total of 520 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City received booster shots against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) last Jan. 29, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.

“The Mandaluyong Center for Health Office enhanced its aid on Jan. 29, 2022, under the coordination of Atty. Maurecio Ulep, to make the COVID-19 AstraZeneca Booster vaccination available to 520 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs),” it said in a statement.

“This is done to decrease the impact on the most vulnerable individuals and prevent or limit the spread of the illness,” it explained.

BuCor had said that 3,297 of the total 3,340 PDLs at CIW had been vaccinated since Jan. 4.

Last Dec. 29 and 30, a total of 690 PDLs got their vaccinations against flu, it also said.
