Floyd Mayweather takes a jab at Pacquiao after dominating Logan Paul

Floyd Mayweather Jr. made sure that he won't be bashing any fighters when he talks about his success story as an undefeated boxer.

But the unbeaten five-division world boxing champion, who has been inactive in the professional scene since beating UFC star Conor McGregor in August 2017, cannot help but take a swipe at former rival Manny Pacquiao.

"It's not bashing any fighter when I talk about this," Mayweather told reporters after beating Youtuber Logan Paul in an exhibition match. "When I come to an exhibition or come out and box have some fun, I do it cos I wanna do it not because I have to do it. Whereas Pacquiao at his age, which is sad that he has to fight.

"I'm financially set. I wanna let everybody know this. You can hear so many different stories: 'Floyd to do this.' No, I'm well off."

The 44-year-old Mayweather, who reportedly pocketed $50 million, furthered by citing all of his luxurious belongings, from owning a jet to his cars, "billion-dollar" buildings, and his "smart" investments.

While mentioning Pacquiao is pretty much out of nowhere, Mayweather, in an earlier interview, admitted that the Filipino boxing legend was "the best fighter" he fought.

Mayweather, who remained unbeaten in 50 matches on top of 27 knockouts since 1996, scored a unanimous decision win against Pacquiao in the blockbuster match dubbed as the “Fight of the Century" in May 2015.

It is safe to say that both fighters have nothing to prove after reaching the pinnacle of their boxing careers but Pacquiao, at 42, is still hungry for another crack at the belt.

This time though, the fighting senator will be facing a much younger opponent in Errol Spence Jr., 31, who is the reigning unified WBC and IBF welterweight champion, on August 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Coincidentally, Spence was a former sparring partner of Mayweather.

Pacquiao has been inactive since scoring a split decision win against Keith Thurman in July 2019 to improve at 62-7-2 record with 39 KOs while Spence owns a perfect record of 27-0 highlighted by 21 KOs.

Last January, Pacquiao got stripped of his super WBA welterweight belt and was declared "champion in recess" due to his inactivity.
