BTS to drop 'Dynamite' worldwide

K-pop boy band BTS unveiled the title of their upcoming English single that will be released worldwide this month.

On Aug .2, BTS announced on social media including Twitter and Facebook that their new song is titled “Dynamite.”

Big Hit Entertainment earlier said that the track will be released on Aug. 21 “on Korean and international music streaming sites. We would like to thank all ARMY for your continued affection for BTS, and we ask for your love and support for the new digital single soon to be unveiled.”

During a Naver V Live broadcast last month, BTS said that “we decided to put out a new single in advance because we want to quickly give you new music. We are in the period when the whole world is in distress because of the ceaseless COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, we want to give our fans vitality and perseverance,” according to JTBC Plus.

They described the upcoming song as “an extremely happy English song, just like the song ‘MIC Drop’ released previously or the song we featured in, ‘Waste It On Me.’ We thought it would be more suitable to sing this song in English. The group has already tried recording the guide, and it feels really refreshing."

"In an unpredictable situation like today, we also need a new breakthrough so we have prepared this song. For BTS, this is both an experiment and a new challenge. While listening and recording this song, our mood naturally got better and felt like we had been energized. Our group wants to share this feeling with you. We are eagerly looking forward to listening to this song with you guys," BTS added.

The boys will be releasing the single this month before dropping their brand new album in the latter part of the year.

BTS are nominated in three categories in the 2020 Video Music Awards (VMA) that will air on Aug. 30 (Aug. 31 in the Philippines): Best Pop, Best Choreography and Best K-pop.

Last month, Guinness World Records announced that BTS’ “Bang Bang Con: The Live,” held on June 14, set the record for the most viewers for a music concert live stream with 756,000 fans.
