BTS to release new song in August, new album this year

K-pop boy band BTS stirred fans’ emotions when it was announced that they will be releasing a new song in August. 

Big Hit Entertainment announced that “on August 21, 2020, the new digital single by BTS will be released on Korean and international music streaming sites.”

“We would like to thank all ARMY for your continued affection for BTS, and we ask for your love and support for the new digital single soon to be unveiled,” the agency said. 

During a broadcast on Naver V Live, the boys revealed that the digital single will have English lyrics just like “MIC Drop” or “Waste It On Me.” 

In addition, BTS revealed that they are preparing for a new album that  is slated to be released this year. 

Last February 21, BTS released the album “Map of the Soul: 7,” which sold 2.65 million on the first day of release, breaking their own record for “Map of the Soul: Persona,” which had total sales of 1.47 million on the first day, based on the Hanteo Chart. “Map of the Soul: 7” sold 3.37 million copies in the first week.

Korea’s Gaon Music Chart revealed that the album has sold 4.26 million copies in the first half of the year to take first place in the best-selling albums list for the period and it earned a quadruple million certification from the chart.
