MB Daily News Update: Taal Volcano acts up anew

Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso was about to start a town hall meeting in San Nicolas, Batangas, when Taal Volcano began to spew thick, white smoke in the distance, prompting him to ask those who attended the event to just go home and see to their families’ safety first.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised the alert status over Taal Volcano to level 3 at around 7 a.m., following a “nearly” continuous phreatomagmatic activity that triggered plumes of white steam.

Other top stories include another round of hefty increase in fuel prices next week, and the possibility of a fourth Covid-19 vaccine rollout in the last week of April.
