MOVIEGOER: Arjo going global via 'Trigger,' 'Cattleya Killer'

As road blocks continue to stand in the way of franchise-less ABS-CBN locally, the media giant is
determined to become a global content provider through movies, TV series, and music.
Last month marked the world premiere of new drama series, “Cattleya Killer,” at this year’s MIPCOM Cannes. Network presented the pilot of the six-part series in anticipation of securing a global distribution partner.

Arjo was accompanied by his parents, Art Atayde and Sylvia Sanchez and sister Ria.

A tearful Arjo, now also a congressman from the first district of Quezon City, expressed confidence in the
ability of Filipinos to compete with international talent.
“We have to move forward,” he said.
The screening of Cattleya Killer is considered a milestone for Philippine entertainment. It marks the first
time a Filipino production screens at MIPCOM, the largest content market in the world.
“Cattleya Killer” was filmed as part of the 2021 Full Circle Series Lab, a Southeast Asian talent development initiative by the FDCP and French film company, Tatino Films.

Looks like Arjo is truly gunning for the international market. His new film, currently in production, Trigger,
has won the nod of Raven Banner Entertainment to executive produce and handle international sales,
according to news site, Deadline.
Trigger (Topakk), an action- thriller, is directed by Richard Somes, and is currently in production. With Arjo as lead star, the film also stars Julia Montes, Sid Lucero, and Kokoy De Santos.
In the film, Arjo plays a security guard who figures in a different kind of war when a young woman (Montes) seeks his protection against a corrupt police death squad.
