2 deputy Ombudsman posts open to applicants

The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has opened the applications or nominations to the post of deputy Ombudsman for the military and other law enforcement offices (MOLEO).

 In an announcement dated Feb. 11, Supreme Court Clerk of Court and JBC Ex Officio Secretary Edgar O. Aricheta said the applications and nominations will be accepted until April 29.

Incumbent MOLEO deputy Ombudsman Cyril E. Ramos will retire on May 6 at the end of his seven-year term.

Also, the JBC announced the extension for the submission of applications to the post of deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao, a position that will be vacated on March 13 by Deputy Ombudsman Rodolfo M. Elman.

“Recently, the JBC received a request from the Office of the Ombudsman for the extension of the deadline for the submission of application documents for the said position (deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao),” Aricheta said.

 “Acting thereon, the JBC agreed to extend the deadline for submission of application documents from 1 March 2021 to 30 March 2021,” he added.

In the announcement, Aricheta said applicants interested for the two posts will have to access the JBC’s Online Application Scheduler.

 Once the required information in the online application scheduler have been filled up, Aricheta said “they will receive a computer-generated letter of intent in their e-mail addresses.” 

 “They must submit the complete and accurate digitized versions of (a) the letter of intent and (b) the documentary requirements through electronic mail to [email protected] on their selected date and time of appointment in the Online Application Scheduler,” he said.

 “Applicants who have been found by the Council to have willfully made false statements, misrepresentations, or concealments of any material information as provided for under the 2020 Revised JBC Rules shall be considered disqualified from being nominated by the Council,” he added.
