Many in the Tiktok generation know content creator Melo Aguilar because of his active presence on the platfrom. He is known for his comedy skits and discussions about lifestyle and relationships. (So, siya na talaga?!)
He started creating content with his friends in 2019 but it was during the pandemic that he made waves on Tiktok. (Daan daw nang daan sa feed!)
“So, nag-Tiktok ako. Tapos, nagulat ako, may viral! first time kung nagkaroon ng 100,000 na views. Dun nabuksan yung idea na, uy, okay tong Tiktok as platform. So, tinuloy-tuloy ko siya.” Melo recalls. (May future!)
One of his first contents was about his being an insurance agent. "Ginamit ko siya sa sales career ko. So, through Tiktok, dun ako nakakabenta ng services ko sa sales.” (Serbisyong totoo ni Melo?!)
But in 2024, he realized he was losing his creativity. All he wanted was to get sales from his content. (Ay, akin na lang benta if di mo bet!)
“Parang, nawawala na yung creativity ko sa paggawa ng content. Parang, ginagawa ko na lang siya for the sake na may ma-post akong content, for the sake na meron akong ma-close na sale, um, may ma-close akong deal.” Melo shares. (Dahil diyan, close na tayo!)
Melo had to reassess his purpose for exploring social media. "So, sabi ko, balik lang ako sa core ko, kung bakit ako nag-content before, which is, i-showcase yung kalokohan ko online.” (Basta ako, i-showcase ang mga boys sa show namin!)
He decided to make his passion, his career. "The thing is, wala pa akong kinikita nung, time na yun, yung nagde-decide na ako na ipu-pursue ko siya. Pero alam ko na, yun yung gusto ko. So, habang meron akong full-time job, nagko-content ako.” (Masipag na bata!)
In his recent guest appearance on the podcast , "PodTanda Natin," he left a reminder for all aspiring creators who want to earn from this kind of endeavor. "Yung kita, It will take time. Parang, gagawa ka ng content may mga araw, may mga buwan na talagang hindi ka kikita. Ako parang ngayon ko palang medyo na-enjoy yung sabihin na natin na compensation sa content creation.” (Tara join ako sa pag e-enjoy!!)
