More economic, cultural, and community destinations were featured in the second day of the Media Agkaysa Ronda tour conducted by the provincial government of La Union on Friday, Feb. 20.
Initiated by Gov. Mario Ortega and organized by the Provincial Information Office, 60 media and content creators from Pangasinan, La Union, and Baguio City visited San Gabriel town where the Baroro River Watershed in Sitio Boga, Barangay Bumbuneg was showcased as a rising eco-tourism destination.
Mayor Lanny Carbonell and the municipal tourism officer presented ongoing conservation efforts and plans to promote sustainable visits while protecting the natural environment.
The group proceeded afterwards to San Juan, the province’s surfing capital, where Mayor Mariquita Ortega welcomed participants and shared updates on tourism projects aimed at enhancing the town’s beach and surf appeal.
They also went to the trade market in Bacnotan that features local products and small enterprises that contribute to the province’s vibrant economy and cultural identity.
Provincial information staff and municipal tourism officers assisted throughout the activity, reinforcing collaboration between local government units and the media sector.
