Since his parents and grandparents are doctors, Riggs Calalang thought of following in their footsteps. (ako hanggang dance steps lang!) He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and then attended medical school. But he suddenly had a change of heart (umattitude?!) and enrolled himself in a flying school and eventually became a licensed pilot. (lipad tayo bro!)
“Narealize ko di ko sya gusto. Mas gusto lang talaga ng parents at grandparents ko for me. Kaya medyo disappointed sila na di ko tinuloy. Pero natapos ko naman yung sa flying school, lisensyado po," Riggs shares. (parang gusto na kita bro!)
He wanted to pursue his profession, but he had to take on the role of a manager at his family’s private hospital. (dami sigurong bading na nagpapacheck up dyan!)
“Pandemic kasi yun. We needed to focus on our business. I had to make a sacrifice. Pinili ko muna family business kesa sa career ko," Riggs recalls (piliin mo ako bro!)
Just recently, an agent convinced him to appear on television. (ang laki sa frame, 6 footer!) He joined the dating game segment of ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime (ka-date pala need mo, dito lang ako bro!) He won the title of beauty queen Alexandra Rosales. (bakit di nalang ako?!)
“Dapat po may televised kaming date pero di natutuloy kasi marami po syang ganap sa buhay. Marami talaga kami sa behind the scene. Tatlo kaming guys na nakuha tapos ako yung napiling maka-date. I really don’t know what’s next. Come what may," Riggs narrates. (ako nalang daw papalit kay ate girl!)
This television exposure gave him other opportunities in showbiz. “Hindi ako nagsasara ng pintuan. Pag may offer naman, kung kaya ko, gagawin ko.” (may offer ako koya!)
In his recent guest appearance on our YouTube show, WTFu, the 26-year-old bachelor expressed his willingness to do sexy scenes in movies if he were ever given a new career in the entertainment business. (kebs daw kung boy o girl ang ka-eksena!)
“Kapag actor kasi, medyo cliché na, pero siempre gusto ko maka-eksena si Coco Martin. Si Jake Cuenca rin, marami na siyang nagawa na ganung klaseng film. Sana si Piolo Pascual. Papa P. patikim!” Riggs says (so uunahan mo pa ako?!)
