The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has nine more new support personnel and 20 immigration officers who will be deployed as frontliners.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado said on Thursday, June 5, the new personnel graduated last Monday, June 2, after undergoing training at the BI’s Philippine Immigration Academy (PIA).
“These new personnel, equipped with the necessary skills, with a heart to serve the public, are now set to be deployed to the frontlines,” Viado said.
“This is a new chapter for the BI, and is the start of a Bagong Immigration, leading towards the President’s Bagong Pilipinas vision,” he added.
The new personnel will be deployed mostly at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) “to further augment the personnel deployment at the BI’s frontlines,” Viado said
“The said personnel underwent a rigorous hiring and training process. Applicants were required to pass interviews and entrance exams before entering the BI’s Philippine Immigration Academy (PIA),” he pointed out.
