A Nigerian national with fake travel documents has been barred from entering the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Sunday, May 25.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado identified the Nigerian national as Chinecherem Emmanuel Ike, 20, who was intercepted by immigration authorities at the Davao International Airport (CIA) last May 17.
“The Bureau remains firm in enforcing immigration laws. We have a duty to ensure that only those who comply with our laws are allowed entry,” Viado declared.
Viado said the Nigerian claimed to be an incoming business administration student of a school in the country.
But, he said, the Nigerian presented a falsified letter claiming he intended to study business administration and a dubious email saying he is going to the Philippines to study.
The has been sent back to his port of origin and banned from re-entering the Philippines.
