Parañaque rescue vehicles assist stranded commuters

The Parañaque City government mobilized emergency vehicles to assist stranded commuters as heavy rains and flooding disrupted public transportation in several areas on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez directed the city’s disaster response teams to help residents and commuters affected by the inclement weather and ensure that emergency services remained accessible in flood‑prone areas.

The Parañaque City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) deployed its 6x6 transport vehicle to ferry commuters stranded by flooding.

The deployment also provided an alternative mode of transportation amid reduced availability of public utility vehicles due to the bad weather.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)‑Parañaque joined the effort, carrying out "Oplan Paghalasa" in flood‑prone areas and deploying a fire truck to transport stranded commuters.

City disaster and emergency response personnel continued to monitor flood‑prone areas and assist affected residents.

Authorities urged motorists and commuters to exercise caution and avoid flooded roads whenever possible.
