BFP rescues 4 kids trapped by flood at Valenzuela bridge

Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection–Valenzuela City rescued four children trapped by rising floodwaters at Paso de Blas Bridge on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Authorities said the children were playing in the flooded area when the water level suddenly rose, preventing them from getting to safety.
In a social media post, two BFP-Valenzuela rescuers were seen throwing a rope toward the children as residents formed a human chain to help pull them out.

Despite limited equipment, the responders continued the rescue operation while other emergency resources were deployed to different areas.
All four children were eventually brought to safety with the help of residents.
BFP-Valenzuela thanked members of the community who assisted during the rescue.
Authorities also reminded parents and guardians to closely watch their children, especially during flooding and severe weather, to prevent similar incidents.
