49 nabbed in weeklong hunt for fugitives in Ilocos Region

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M. FLORENDO, La Union — Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) were able to arrest 49 wanted persons in the Ilocos Region from Aug. 15 to 21 in a weeklong campaign to hunt down fugitives.
The arrests covered 40 other wanted persons and nine most wanted fugitives — five at the provincial level, one city-level, and three municipal-level.
The operation was conducted under PRO 1’s Enhanced A.L.E.R.T.O. Program, which emphasizes proactive, intelligence‑driven, and accountable policing.
Regional director Police Brig. Gen. Jovencio S. Badua Jr. lauded police personnel for their dedication, stressing that arrests must respect due process and human rights.
