About 596 families, or 2,238 individuals, remained in 13 evacuation centers across 9 barangays in Pasig City as of Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 18, following days of flooding triggered by heavy Habagat rains.

According to the city’s latest 9 a.m. update, the evacuees continue to stay in temporary shelters as authorities monitor weather conditions and flood levels.

It added that the Manggahan Multipurpose Hall in Manggahan and the Barangay Hall in Sumilang have also been pre-set up and are on standby in case they need to be opened.
As of 12 p.m., flooding was reported only in Katipiran C. Yap Compound in Barangay Dela Paz, with the water level at 30.48 cm (12 inches). The area is impassable to motorcycles and sedans.

Meanwhile, the Pasig City Incident Management Team (IMT) has remained activated since Monday, Aug. 17, to ensure continuous operations in response to the effects of the habagat in the city.
Currently, 1,177 personnel are deployed as part of the IMT, including personnel from the local government, national government agencies such as the Bureau of Fire Protection, barangay governments, and volunteers from non-government organizations.
