CEBU CITY–Close to P10 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from a construction worker in Barangay Pardo here.
The 30-year-old suspect, a certain John, yielded 27 packs of suspected shabu when he was arrested in a buy-bust operation past 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, said Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) Regional Director Joel Plaza.
Plaza said the seized shabu has an estimated average market value of P9,690,000.
Plaza added that the suspect was considered a high-value target.
Records showed that the suspect was previously arrested by the Philippine National Police on August 13, 2023, for violation of Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Based on monitoring, the PDEA-7 said the suspect was selling two kilos of shabu a week.
