LPA develops into tropical depression 'Maymay' — PAGASA

The low-pressure area (LPA) off the coast of La Union developed into a tropical depression at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, and was given the domestic name “Maymay,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
The weather disturbance, previously designated as LPA 08a, was located 180 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union, or over the West Philippine Sea.
Maymay is the second tropical cyclone to develop inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility this month and the 13th this year.
