When Dyosa Pockoh started doing his vlogs, netizens flooded him negative comments. (Naimbey ang mga utaw?!)
His content was mostly about him admiring his looks, even claiming at one point that he shares the "aura" of actress Anne Curtis. (Kaya naman pala!)
“Ang aking pagba-vlog noon, lagi akong nagmamaganda. Lagi kong sinasabi na kamukha ko si Anne Curtis. Tapos sa mga pageant, hindi na ako pinaglalaban dahil ang ganda-ganda ko na,” Dyosa shares. ('Wag ganun mars!)
He thought he could get away with it, but, apparently, bashers were serious in putting him down.
"Ang bashing sa akin, kulang na lamang ako ay ipapatay na. Grabe talaga iyong pambabash sa akin." (Kill agad?!)
It was then that Dyosa decided to modify his content. He used his Batangueño accent in delivering jokes and his life in Batangas. (Knows ba yan ni Ate Vi?!)
“Simula noon minahal ako ng mga taga-Batangas at ang daming proud na proud sa akin, mas lalo ko talagang ipinagmamalaki na Batangueño ako,” Dyosa shares. (Sure ba naging proud sila?! Chos!)
His natural Batangueño image eventually became his ticket to showbiz.
"Noong nag-i-start ako sa showbiz, sinasabihan agad nila ako, ‘Dyosa, salitang Batangueño, ha? " (Kaya 'wag mo na gambalain si Anne Curtis!)
But he admits, it became an overly used and abused character. (Overacting na si accla?!)
“Nilaliman ko naman, iyong parang Leo Martinez na. Medyo may mga nagsabi sa akin na, ‘Ay, Dyosa, parang over ka na. Parang overacting ang iyong pagiging Batangueño. Dapat iyong natural lang,’” Dyosa recalls. (Sana say mo asawa mo kasi si Sir Leo!)
Dyosa accepted the criticisms and took his Batangueño content on the next level. He included Batangas culture, tradition and lifestyle on his vlogs. (Ay pang award ang atake!)
“Nagulat ang lahat na, ‘Ay, may mga ganiyan pala sa inyo?’ Dahil may ibang lugar talaga na hindi aware sa ganiyang culture natin na magdadala ng dulot,” Dyosa says. (E, magdadala ng boylet meron ba?!)
In his guest appearance on the podcast Podtanda hosted by his fellow Batangueño Zee Luistro, Dyosa proudly mentioned about the concept:
"Kapag ikaw ay naging kaibigan, basta may handaan o birthday sa amin, kahit simpleng okasyon, imbitado ka. Parang iyon ang ating form ng pagmamahal at kapag ikaw kaibigan ay talagang ipaglalaban ka." (Makapag jowa nga ng Batangueño na may mahabang balisong!)
