The La Union Maritime Police Station, with the Aringay and Luna Maritime Law Enforcement Teams, in coordination with PENRO La Union, nabbed the suspect after he sold one live ball python to a police poseur-buyer for P4,000.
Recovered from the suspect were the snake and the marked money.
The suspect faces charges for violating Republic Act No. 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.
Police vowed to step up efforts to protect wildlife and preserve the country’s biodiversity.
