Caloocan police identify persons of interest in vlogger 'Mima Alicia' slay

The Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) has identified persons of interest in the killing of vlogger Alicia “Mima Alicia” Lipata in Barangay 171, Caloocan City.

Caloocan police chief Col. Joey Goforth said investigators are pursuing several angles, including Lipata’s online content and a possible personal dispute.
He noted that most of Lipata’s content focused on social issues.
Investigators also found that Lipata had previously filed a case against another individual, who later filed a countercase. Police declined to disclose further details but said the case is linked to one of the persons of interest.
The persons of interest were identified through forward and backtracking of closed‑circuit television (CCTV) footage around Barangay 171, where the shooting occurred.
Authorities are also examining whether the suspects were familiar with the area, lived in the same barangay, or had been monitoring the victims’ movements before the attack.
Police said they are waiting for Lipata’s live‑in partner to recover so they can obtain his statement. He remains hospitalized after undergoing surgery on Saturday for multiple gunshot wounds.
The shooting occurred at around 3:10 a.m. in front of the couple’s rented house in Camarin, Caloocan City.
Investigators said Lipata had just stepped out of their vehicle after her partner parked it when two helmeted men approached and opened fire.
Lipata died at the scene from gunshot wounds to the temple, chest, and back.

Authorities recovered seven spent .45-caliber shell casings from the crime scene.
Police described the gunman as wearing a red helmet, a white long-sleeved shirt, and jogging pants, while the motorcycle driver was wearing a white helmet, a white shirt, and dark pants.
The Northern Police District (NPD) - Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) said it will provide updates as the investigation progresses.
Earlier, NPD director Brig. Gen. Benliner Capili activated Special Investigation Task Group "MIMA" to conduct a focused and swift investigation into the killing of the pro-administration vlogger.
